Spring Fest: May 31st

By Suki Bourquin | May 20, 2007

Springfest ‘07: May 31st

Do not miss Spring Fest. It will be held in the courtyard from 10am to 2pm. The festival is organized by the Arts and Lecture Program, and there is going to be so many hilarious, fun activities going on.

First, Roberto the Magnificent will be juggling with fire on a Unicycle. The Parenting Students Club will be manning a celebrity dunk tank where students can take out their mid quarter aggression and even though the celebrities are not famous off campus, having the power to send someone plummeting into freezing water can be quite satisfying particularly if the celebrity is one of your professors. Sumo Wrestling is another get stress reliever. This is fun to do and fun to watch. If students don’t want to fight or throw they can bounce to their hearts content in the adult carnival bouncy ride. The campus childcare will be bringing the preschooler’s at 11 am to bounce away and students can get free henna tattoos.

Student Clubs will be running carnival games. Last years favorite was “Roxanne” where participants stuff marshmallows and soda in their mouth every time Sting says Roxanne. If you are more in the mood to win something try the Pie eating contest or dress up like your favorite “carny”. Bearded ladies, strong men, clowns just use your imagination and you have a chance to win Sonics Tickets. In truth many of the games are designed to let students see friends make fools out of themselves and that’s a lot of fun.

A big draw to Spring Fling are the cheap eats. Students can enjoy barbeque, vegetarian or carnivorous, for only $2.00–includes chips and sodas. Students from the Business Leadership Team will be providing snow cones and all proceeds are going to fund the charity Unitus. All clubs are encouraged to participate with games and booths to help make their group visible and make this event one to remember.
